An integrated qualification of counselors in EAP & Mental health was created for the first time in Japan.

The name of the qualification is EAP Mental health counselor qualifying exam. As a result of the increasing in importance of mental health care, a need of human resources who are integrated professionals having EAP skills and clinical skills arose.

The stage for EAP mental health counselors is expanding boundaries in many phases of business, ranging from preventive care of mental disorders, early detection and treatment, mental health counseling services, support to return to work for employees on temporary retirement due to mental problems, structuring EAP systems to EAP consultation.

Qualified EAP Mental health counselors are expected to take a key role in various field ranging from companies, medical institutions, government, local communities to education institutions as experts who have knowledge and practical skills specialized in EAP mental health.
